Basin Ideas

Front and centre, wash your hands or brush your teeth, basins are a key element to any bathroom. While the functionality of basins remains largely the same, the design elements of basins are varied. From textured stone and concrete to classic vitreous china, basins come in many shapes and colours.

While colours may not be a new feature for basins, they are newly popular. Lately there has been a trend towards pretty pastels and even more recently natural/moody colours. With colours like blue and green becoming favourites among basin buyers.

Similarly, to colour, basins made from different materials have become increasingly sort after. Made to fit a more specific and stylised aesthetic, basins made of materials such as stone and concrete and metals are all the rage. They add character to a bathroom and even set the tone for a complete bathroom look.

While it is true that the activities we perform at the sink are routine and don't vary much, there is an aspect of utility that varies from person to person. The most obvious utility aspect is the size and depth of a basin. It is completely up to an individual and everybody will have their own preference. If you aren’t sure which basin size is right for you, one of our experts would be more than happy to help. Other utility trends include the move away from plugs to pop-up wastes. The modern pop-up wastes are much more stylish and practical than traditional plugs as well as being attached to the sink, so they’re harder to lose. While it may seem like a lot to think about, with the help of one of our bathroom consultants this process can be fun and easy, so feel free to reach out if you are looking for a new basin.
